TEMPERATURE MONITORING

Temperature has a direct relationship to curing speed: the higher the temperature, the faster the cure. Yet, excessive heat may cause the substrate to distort, which can result in registration difficulties or substrate damage. Heat may also cause UV cure system components to fail. Therefore, understanding temperature is critical to ensuring proper cure and to safeguarding the substrate and system from potential failure.

 


DIGITAL THERMOCOUPLE THERMOMETER

This Digital Thermocouple Thermometer is an essential tool for those requiring the highest degree of accuracy and durability. It has a Total System Accuracy™ (instrument and probe accuracy combined) of +/-0.9F° (+/- 0.5C°) over the entire temperature range, -40°F to 500°F (-40°C to 260°C). Durable construction ensures reliable performance even after repetitive drops onto concrete and exposure to high temperature. Probe is made out of patented, high temperature, abrasion resistant cable, and maintains +/-0.9F° (+/-0.5C°) accuracy. Unit has an electroluminescent backlight and turns off after 5 minutes of non-use. Hold button "freezes" current reading. Factory-calibrated to NIST standards.

The Heavy-Duty Conductivity and Temperature Meter has 3 measuring ranges with resolution from 0.1µS and accuracy to +/-2%, plus a dual display of conductivity and temperature measurements on its super large 1.4" (36 mm) LCD display. Conductivity ranges include 200µS, 2mS and 20mS. This unit measures temperature from 32°F to 140°F and 0°C to 60°C. SPOT CHECK SURFACE THERMOMETER - BIMETAL

The Mini Spot-Check Surface Thermometer is an affordable device for measuring substrate surface temperatures from 0-250°F (17-121°C) following product exit from the cure chamber. Its small size makes it perfect for taking measurements within confined spaces. By placing the bimetal sensor within close contact of the surface, quick temperature reading can be obtained. With a time constant (time required to reach 63% of an instantaneous temperature change) of 22 seconds, it is accurate to +/-2% of full scale range.

CON-TROL-CURE® Tempil Indicator Sticks are ideal for working below 700°F (371°C) on relatively rough surfaces where prolonged heating is not required. Indicator Sticks are suitable for determining surface temperatures during preheat, annealing and stress relieving processes. Use them by marking the workpiece before heating begins. The blunt-tip crayon's dry, opaque mark will change to a distinct melted mark when the temperature rating of the selected Temperature Indicator Stick is reached.

Non-Contact Infrared Probe is an accurate, low-cost IR probe that can be used with all common Type K thermocouple meters. The plastic enclosed, self-adhering Paper Thermometers are low cost, accurate heat indicators perfect for inaccessible areas. Pocket Thermometer With Alarm is °F/°C switchable with 0.1° resolution from -19.9 to +199.9° and 1° over 200°. It has a range of -58°F to 302°F (-50°C to 150°C). Quicktemp Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer safely and accurately measures infrared temperature within the cure chamber or substrate. The total IR energy emitted into the sensor from the target area will be averaged within the field of view. With a D/T ration of 3:1, and when working 3" (7.6 cm) away from your target, the Quicktemp offers a 1" diameter working field. With a temperature range of 0-600°F (-18 to 315°C), it is accurate to +/-2% of full scale. Available with or without a laser.

THERMAX TEMPERATURE LABELS are used to measure temperatures that are difficult or impossible to measure during actual use. Each strip has 6 calibrated windows that change color permanently when a specific temperature has been reached. The Thermax 6 label is sized to fit the indentation on certain Brembo calipers, but they can be used on hundreds of other components, from oil tanks to shock absorbers.

Available in 6 temperature ranges covering temperatures from 149°F (65°C) to 554°F (290°C). Each strip measures 0.47" L x 1.26" W. Sold in packs of 10 strips of one temperature range.

Custom Flex Circuit Abrader

We had an unusual request for blasting the back of flex circuits to improve the laser solderability of the parts. The backing was too reflective and meant that the laser welds were not always consistent. A custom machine was built to create a uniform area over the back of the area that is soldered. This means that the area would not reflect the laser and improve the efficiency of the weld.

RPS ANTHEM lead dipping, twin solder bath solderability system now shipping. With dynamic solder bath or wave nozzles, single or double static or dynamic flux baths and available with optional rotary head for QFP packages. Epak have already shipped and installed the first Anthem in the UK.
