The Handheld
Spotcure System is a rugged high energy spot-cure system
that generates a minimum output of 70mW/cmฒ at 365nm.
Employing a broad range of interchangeable light guides
and a solid state variable timer with audible indicator as
well as timer settings of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 seconds.
Internal voltage regulation and an efficient cooling
system assures years of trouble-free operation. Continuous
operation capabilities make this system ideal in
controlled production environments. Also available in a
visible light version, which generates greater than
700mW/cmฒ of visible light output at 450nm wavelength.

Low pressure
UV Penlamps are cold cathode, mercury, gaseous discharge
lamps constructed of double bore quartz. Specially
designed with electrodes at one end for insertion into
small apertures. UV Penlamps are known for their long life
(5000 hours), stability throughout the lamp life and high
degree of isolated spectral line accuracy. They can be
used as primary references or spectral sources. The range
of applications include monochromatic sources for optical
systems and reference studies. Other applications include
chromotography, interferometry and atomic absorption
techniques.

Whether you
want to cure UV adhesives, do florescence studies with UV
light, or simply have the brightest, whitest source of
cold light available... CON-TROL-CURE can provide a Liquid
core Lightguide to do the job.
The new CON-TROL-CURE TM Liquid Lightguides transmit UV
light down to a wavelength of 250nm, and with short guide
lengths even down to 220nm. As a result, applications
requiring UVC now also benefit from the advantages of
Liquid Lightguides. Important applications are wafer
manufacturing, analytical measurements, fluorescence,
epoxy curing where UVC eliminates the surface smear film,
and photo therapy. Additionally, critical applications
with high power UV lasers (i.e. 308nm excimer laser) are
now possible with excellent transmission stability.
Conventional light guides are comprised of quartz fiber
bundles. The core of each individual fiber consists of
pure quartz glass and the cladding is doped quartz glass.
The most important advantages of CON-TROL-CURE TM Liquid
Lightguides over conventional quartz fiber bundles are:
Between 230 - 400nm the transmission of CON-TROL-CURE TM
Liquid Lightguides is significantly higher. (Transmission
of up to 80% in 2 meter length)
The theoretical maximum angle of aperture 2a is 72ฐ and
only 29ฐ for quartz/quartz fiber bundles. Thus
CON-TROL-CURE TM Liquid Lightguides can transmit more
power from conventional, non coherent UV sources.
The costs for CON-TROL-CURE TM Liquid Lightguides are only
a fraction of those for quartz fiber bundles.
The long term operational temperature range of
CON-TROL-CURE TM Liquid Lightguides is -10ฐC to +40ฐC.
When adapted to a light source, the light entrance sleeve
of the light guide should not reach a temperature above
50ฐC.

The CON-TROL-CUREฎ UV Spot
Gun Deluxe is designed for small area curing and small
part applications of UV or visible adhesives within the
365-500nm range. The unit will not overheat, even with
continuous exposing cycles. This highly versatile system
can be handheld, mounted on a table or wall.
This reliable, compact curing unit is perfect for
spot/larger area (10 cm x 10 cm) curing. The precision
optics offer exceptional depth of cure. It generates a
high intensity UV output of 70mW/cm2 and the UV peak is at
365nm. After depressing the switch, the cycle time begins
and the beeper sounds every 10 seconds.
One squeeze of the trigger starts the cycle time. After
the designated exposure time has been reached, an audible
alarm sounds as the light shuts off. The digital timer can
be set to cure from 10 seconds to 9 minutes in 30 second
intervals. There is a trigger activated cycle interrupt
that stops exposure when the full preset cycle is not
required. The unit has a quiet, high CFM cooling fan,
which starts when the lamp is activated and stops
automatically 3 minutes after final exposure.
The UV Spot Gun Deluxe is equipped with a 8 mm x 60ฐ
light guide and an extended life (100+ hours) lamp.
Optional extra light guides are available by special order
and can be purchased separately: 3 mm x 90ฐ, 13 mm x
80ฐ, or 13 mm straight. Carries the CE mark.

5,000mW/cm2 of
initial ouput delivers a peak intensity of 365nm and the
maximum energy for spot curing UV adhesives, inks or
coatings. 5mm x 1m liquid filled light guide incorporates
a dichroic reflector to reduce IR build-up. Vertical bulb
orientation produces maximum output and extended bulb
life. No tools are required to open lamp reflector
assembly for reduced downtime. Digital shutter timer with
foot switch permits hands-free operation.
While lamp intensity of this system starts in excess of
5000mW/cm2, over the life of the lamp this intensity
degrades to 40% of initial output after about 1000 lamp
hours. This is a standard characteristic of all arc lamps.
Since most UV chemistries need less than 1000mW/cm2 of UV
to initiate proper photoinitiator reaction, the 2000mW/cm2
of power towards the end of the lamp life is more than
twice that needed to provide proper UV cure.
Solid-state power supply includes bulb life hour meter,
